Christopher Donovan Day School The Christopher Donovan Day School uses an individualized and innovative approach to teaching to help dozens of students with difficulties succeed in a traditional school setting to achieve their true learning potential. In 2010, we received unanimous local accreditation from the Town of Wareham School Committee. We are in the process of seeking additional accreditation from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
The Christopher Donovan Day School strives to work collaboratively with families, schools and communities to ensure that students learn the skills required to succeed in the world. We believe that each student needs his or her own plan for success that addresses their specific diagnosis, whether it is autism spectrum disorder, a language-based disability or an intellectual or social/emotional learning disability. We also provide a controlled environment for students with compromised immune systems. Our motto is, “Go light your world with the skills you’ve learned.” It’s something we have helped our students accomplish for two years now, and we are proud of their achievements. Our Philosophy The Christopher Donovan Day School strives to provide a positive learning experience where each student achieves their true potential and the highest possible standard and level of independence. We set high standards and we design our curriculum to meet or exceed them. We aim to offer academic and life skills instruction within a safe, nurturing environment. Programs and services are of the highest quality, and adapt to changing needs. We also maintain low teacher to student ratios, allowing us to address the unique needs of each individual with customized programs. We believe that all students should be challenged to learn in a caring environment that respects diversity and values life-long learning. We also believe that regular student assessment and program evaluation are essential for continuous improvement. We admit students of any gender, race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the center. We do not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin in the administration of our educational programs, admissions policies, scholarships, loans or other school-administered programs. The Christopher Donovan Day School, Inc. is a non-profit educational institution under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is operated as a separate legal entity from the Christopher Donovan Center, Inc.
