Christopher Donovan Center The Christopher Donovan Center was created and first opened its doors in April 2007. (Read more about the inspiration for the Christopher Donovan Center.) Its original mission was to provide a setting to help students with difficulties succeeding in a traditional school setting achieve their true learning potential. However, more recently, those primary responsibilities have been transferred to the separate, non-profit Christopher Donovan Day School, which offers an expanded range of services. Today, the Christopher Donovan Center works on a contract basis with the Christopher Donovan Day School and other interested parties to provide an all-encompassing approach to teaching, including home programs identified and specified in each individualized program as needed. We believe that not all children with special needs fit any preconceived mold. While every child faces unique challenges, each also demonstrates his or her own fascinating skills. The Christopher Donovan Center is the place for parents who prefer the most ideal setting for their children. The Christopher Donovan Center strives to work collaboratively with families, schools and communities to ensure that clients learn the skills required to succeed in the world. We believe that each client needs his or her own plan for success that addresses their specific diagnosis, whether it is autism spectrum disorder, a language-based disability or an intellectual or social/emotional learning disability. Our motto is, “Go light your world with the skills you’ve learned.” It’s something we have helped our clients accomplish for two years now, and we are proud of their achievements.
